1. take the plunge
: to make a decision to do sth, especially after thinking about it for a long time:
: if you take the plunge, you decide to do sth that you consider difficult or risky
ex) They're finally taking the plunge and getting married.
ex) He took the plunge and quit smoking.
ex) We've been thinking of buying a new car, and yesterday we finally took the plunge.
2. take off
: if sth such as a product, an activity, or someone's career takes off, it suddenly becomes very successful
ex) The home computer wave that took off in the 1980s quickly led to frustration.

ex) Her career took off after she won an Oscar for best supporting actress.
3. think twice
: to think carefully before you decide to do sth (often used as a warning)
ex) I would think twice about calling him if I were you.
ex) You might want to think twice before buying an insurance policy from them.
ex) You should think twice about employing someone you've never met.
4. top-notch
: excellent; of very good quality
: If you describe someone or something as top-notch, you mean that they are of a very high standard or quality.
ex) Terrific idea, Richard, really. Top-notch.
ex) The state school system offers a top-notch education.
ex) Cynthia was a good choice for your manager. She'll run a top-notch operation.
