1. suit

: if something suits you, it is convenient for you or is the best thing for you in the circumstances.

: to be acceptable, suitable, or convenient for a particular person or in a particular situation.

 

ex) If the parties do not name the point of delivery, then they are taken to have left it to the seller to select the point "that best suits its purpose.

ex) Choose a computer to suit your particular needs. 

ex) There's a range of restaurants to suit all tastes.

ex) The city lifestyle seems to suit her - she looks great.

ex) I don't think a sedentary life would altogether suit me.

ex) Of all the truck models available today, it can be difficult to figure out which would best suit your company's needs.

ex) Feel free to modify them further to suit your specific context or client communication style.

ex) I've found that working on my own doesn't really suit me. I need to be around other people to really be productive. 

 

 

2. sidetrack
: to distract or be distracted from a main subject or topic
: to cause sb to talk about or do sth different and less important

ex) Environmentalists accuse it of trying to sidetrack the issue.
ex) I think we are getting sidetracked.
ex) Now, what was I saying? I got sidetracked by that phone call. 
ex) We really need to focus on this one issue and not get sidetracked. 

 

 

3. slowly but surely / slowly but steadily
: making slow but definite progress

ex) We are getting the work done, slowly but surely.
ex) Another good example is this YouTube channel. I'm a little over 11,000 subscribers now. It is growing slowly but surely and I'm pretty happy about that. 
ex) We are slowly but surely gaining the support of the public.
ex) Under his guidance, the company has grown slowly but steadily.
ex) Women's participation in the country's political life was slowly but steadily increasing.
