Customs Inspection Compensation Policy (CICP)

 

We would like to bring to your attention a new policy introduced by the government: the Customs Inspection  Compensation Policy (CICP). Understanding the challenges faced by importers like yourself, the government recognizes that random customs inspections, while essential for preventing illicit activities, can sometimes lead to unanticipated delays and costs.

To alleviate this burden and ensure fairness, the government has launched the CICP, which aims to provide financial  compensation to bona fide importers who face additional expenses due to these customs checks. This means that should your shipment be selected for inspection and consequently incurs any cost, the government will offer financial support to offset these expenses. The funds for this compensation are sourced directly from the government's budget.
