Q.
I help the shipments of clients to clear customs without any hassles.
Sometimes, however, a part of shipment faces difficulty in clearing customs due to non-compliance with the regulation. It often takes a while to meet requirements as the part needs to go through some testing and obtain certificate. When the client wants the other part to be cleared and released first, we divide the shipment and clear the part that meets requirement. Customs also approves only the compliant part and lets it be released from the warehouse.

A.

The process you're describing is commonly referred to as "Partial Shipment Clearance" or "Partial Release of Goods" in customs terminology.

What is Partial Shipment Clearance?
Partial Shipment Clearance allows for the division and selective clearance of a shipment when part of the consignment meets all regulatory requirements, while another part does not.

Why is it Necessary?
Occasionally, a segment of a shipment may face difficulties in clearing customs due to non-compliance with specific regulations. This non-compliance often necessitates additional testing or certification before clearance. To prevent delays for the entire shipment, the compliant portion can be separated and processed for clearance, ensuring timely delivery of at least part of your goods.

How Does it Work?
 1) Identification of Compliance Issues: When a part of your shipment is flagged for non-compliance, we conduct a thorough review to identify the specific issues.
 2) Division of Shipment: We then divide the shipment into compliant and non-compliant parts. This division is meticulously documented to meet customs requirements.
 3) Clearance of Compliant Part: The compliant portion of the shipment is processed for clearance through customs. This involves all necessary paperwork and adherence to regulatory standards.
 4) Release from Warehouse: Once cleared, the compliant part of the shipment is released from the customs warehouse and can proceed to its final destination.
 5) Resolution of Non-Compliance: Concurrently, we work diligently to address the compliance issues of the remaining part. This may involve additional testing or obtaining necessary certifications.
 6) Final Clearance and Delivery: Once compliance is achieved, the remaining part of the shipment is cleared and delivered.

Advantages for You
- Minimized Delays: This process ensures that at least a part of your shipment reaches you without unnecessary hold-ups.
- Flexibility and Efficiency: It provides a flexible solution to manage unforeseen compliance issues efficiently.
- Continuity of Business Operations: By receiving part of your shipment on time, you can maintain business operations without significant disruptions.
