#1. aspire

: to want sth very much or hope to achieve sth or be successful

(aspire to sth / aspire to do sth)

 

ex) She aspired to a scientific career. 
ex) He aspired to be their next leader. 

ex) Both young men aspire to careers in medicine.

ex) He says he never aspired to become famous.

ex) Most of his students aspired to a career in business. 

ex) They aspired to be gentlemen, though they fell far short of the ideal. 

 

 

#2. at best 

: used to refer to a result, condition, etc., that is the best one possible even though it is not very good. 

 

ex) It's mediocre at best. 

ex) It's not a profession. It's a hobby at best. 

ex) It's like a B-plus at best.

ex) The company won't make a profit this year. At best, they'll break even. 

 

 

#3. advisable
: If you tell someone that it is advisable to do something, you are suggesting that they should do it, because it is sensible or is likely to achieve the result they want.

: (of a course of action) to be recommended; sensible

 

ex) The restaurant is very popular so it is advisable to make reservations if you go. [=it's a good idea to make reservations] 

ex) It is advisable to book early.

ex) My doctor said it was advisable for me to lose weight.

ex) Because of the popularity of the region, it is advisable to book hotels or camp sites in advance. 

ex) It is thus advisable, when possible, to follow up case studies with statistical analysis.
