1. save 

: If someone or something saves you from an unpleasant action or experience, they change the situation so that you do not have to do it or experience it.

(~ 덕분에 ... 하지 않아도 된다)

 

ex) The prize money saved her from having to find a job.

ex) If you phone for an appointment, it’ll save you waiting.

ex) Your tip saved me reinstalling Windows.

2. spare

: to prevent (someone or something) from experiencing or being affected by something unpleasant, harmful, etc.
