1. polarize
: if sth polarizes people or if sth polarizes, two separate groups are formed with opposite opinions or positions.

ex) Pineapple pizza is a strangely polarizing food.

2. plummet
: if an amount, rate or price plummets, it decreases quickly by a large amount.

3. plunge
: if an amount or rate plunges, it decreases quickly and suddenly

ex) We are expecting a plunge in profits this year.
ex) The bank's profits plunged by 87 percent.
ex) The store experienced a sharp plunge in sales.
ex) The Pound plunged to a new low on the foreign exchange markets yesterday.

4. promote
: to further or encourage the progress or existence of

: to help (something) happen, develop, or increase
: If people promote something, they help or encourage it to happen, increase, or spread.

ex) We actively promote the use of alternative transport methods.
ex) a campaign to promote awareness of environmental issues
ex) policies to promote economic growth

ex) Good soil promotes plant growth.
